Installing WireTracks Around Door Frames

When installing WireTracks along door frames, you follow the same principles as a regular installation. However, you must cut the WireTracks to fit around each corner of the door.
Note: Door frames can be very thick. Make sure that the molding is wide enough to cover the WireTracks wiring channel AND the door frame. If not, you will need to purchase thicker molding or choose another route that bypasses the door frame.

Follow the instructions in Installing WireTracks to cut the opening for the channel. Then, follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are wearing your safety goggles.

2. Measure the length of the channel opening from edge to edge around each part of the door frame.

3. Cut the WireTracks wiring channel to fit into the channel opening. Using the miter box, cut each edge that will make up the corner at a 45-degree angle.

4. Install the WireTracks wiring channel using the enclosed screws. Make sure to reinforce it next to the connecting points.

5. Cut the WireTracks channel cover to the same length as the channel and install the cover. Make sure the channel covers do not overlap.

6. Cut the molding to fit into the corner.

7. Apply glue to the wiring channel cover. Make sure not to glue the corners together.

8. Attach the molding to the wiring channel cover.

9. Wait until the glue is well adhered and remove the wiring channel cover/baseboard assemblies.

10. Use the enclosed screws to attach the covers to the molding.

11. Reinstall the wiring channel cover.
