Installing an Outlet

To install an outlet, you must obtain a mounting bracket. Mounting brackets enable you to install standard low-voltage mounting plates in existing drywall without having to retexture and repaint the wall.

We recommend the Carlon SC100R.

To install an outlet such as a telephone jack, Ethernet jack, or cable outlet, follow these steps:

1. Remove the WireTracks wiring channel cover.

2. Follow the instructions that accompanied the mounting bracket and install it at the same level as other outlets on the wall.

3. Drill a hole in the channel.

4. Run the wiring from the bracket to the channel.

2. Drill a hole through both wiring channels.

5. Reinstall the wiring channel cover.
