Calculating
Time and Materials
WireTracks Original
WireTracks requires some installation effort. To estimate installation
time, please use the following guidelines for a 12 x 15 room:
| Type
of Installer |
Estimated
Time |
| Homeowner
/ DIYer |
6-8 hours
per room, 2 hours per doorframe |
| Remodeler/Contractor |
3-4 hours
per room, 1 hour per doorframe |
| Trim Carpenter |
2-3 hours
per room, 45 minutes per doorframe |
When calculating materials,
measure the length of the walls where you will install WireTracks and
add 10%. Add 2 1/2 8' sections for each doorframe that the WireTracks
wiring channels will go around.
WireTracks NC
WireTracks NC adds very little time to a new construction project.
However, it saves time and money because there is less wiring to install.
The following are the major
changes in the construction process when using WireTracks NC:
- WireTracks NC wiring channels
must be laid down before the sheetrock at a level above the flooring.
- If 92 5/8" studs
are used, the sheetrock must be trimmed. This can be avoided by using
96" studs.
- Trim is glued to the WireTracks
NC channel cover instead of nailed to the wall.
